This Carry Permit class provides everything you need to apply for a MN Carry Permit in one easy session. Must be at least 20 years old to attend.
The Permit to Carry course covers many topics related to handguns, self-defense, and legal information. The class will address basic gun safety and proper shooting techniques. There will be a live-fire portion, proving safety and responsibility in firearm handling and fulfilling state qualification requirements. The class will also cover situational awareness for self-defense, expectations for behavior and attitude while carrying a firearm, and the legal rights and responsibilities of carry.
Special focus in the Carry Permit class is put on the regulations regarding the threat and use of defensive and lethal force. The physical, emotional and psychological elements of a deadly encounter will be addressed, along with the legal aftermath of a lethal confrontation.
The Course Price Includes:
- All Course Materials (including certification)
- Pistol Use & Ammunition (as needed)
- Eye & Ear Protection (as needed)
- Tuition does NOT include state application requirements/fees
- No Range Fees
- Live-Fire portion of class held at a private, indoor shooting lane
You can also add a Florida certification, which allows you to apply for a Florida out-of-state carry permit, for an additional $25. The MN Carry Permit lets you carry in 27 states, adding the Florida gives the ability to carry in a total of 34. For those who travel extensively or spend part of the winter in Southern climes, opting to gain certification for a Florida application may provide additional value.
Walk-Ins are Always Welcome!
There are no prerequisites to this course—however, if you are not familiar with handguns we strongly encourage you to take an Essential Pistol Craft course before taking the Permit to Carry class. We also strongly suggest you be comfortable with your chosen carry weapon, and practice regularly with your gun.
